Before moving to Long Island in 2000, Laoshi Laurince McElroy was very active in the Des Moines, IA, nonprofit theatre community. The company he co-founded, StageWest, is celebrating its 10th anniversary of “theatre that flips the switch.” CityView is a weekly publication in Central Iowa and recently featured an article on StageWest’s decade in Des Moines:

After 20 years bringing “theatre that flips the switch” to Central Iowa and at the close of its 2016-2017 season, StageWest merged with Repertory Theatre of Iowa and formed Iowa Stage Theatre Company (ISTC).
